Piston ring compressor

Anyone recommend a ring compressor so I can install rings in a 64 mm bore ? Inches it is 2.51969. The rings for this engine is expensive and I sure don't want to break one. The one I got now is the cheap HF and it just won't do it. Thanks

Well let see the Pittsburg is supposed to go from 2-1/8" to 6" so it will borderline at 2-1/2". But it is 4" high.

Now Stens 750-323 is for use with a range of 1 3/4" to 3 1/2" but is only 2" high.

Lets see anyone else know of a better compressor.

Thanks for that info. A friend of mine just brought me one like RoyM showed. Only difference is where you turn it you use a 1/4 inch extension and ratchet which I like better . I will attempt to put these rings in tomorrow and see how it goes. I will let you know how I come out. THANKS

I got the rings in but I really don't like this tool. There has to be a better one. When I got to the top ring I got a little resistance . I tapped it very lightly and it went in. Same on both cylinders. I started to put a large radiator clamp on it but didn't. I hope they are in good. I have always used the tool set that has several bands with the special pliers but the smallest is 2 and 5/8th and of course this bore is a fraction over 2 and 1/2th.

That is normal with the Lisle compressor. It is fine as long as it is snug, there is no need to overtighten and strangle the piston. A coating of assembly lube helps.
