Carb Question

Postby lefty » Sun Aug 08, 2021 5:59 pm

Briggs 28N707-0162-01
Code: 9506054B

I find this a lot when looking up carburetors. The diagram shows a Walbro and a Nikki. Does this mean that either will work? I can't seem to find if maybe there was a serial / code number difference.

On this particular setup, the Walbro looks more like the one I have but uses a straight inlet. The inlet on mine is 90 degrees. The Nikki shows a 90-degree inlet but it's obviously a different setup on the internals. In addition, the Nikki shows up on the diagram but has no corresponding listing in the parts list. No part number.
Thanks

The Nikki is likely the new replacement when replacing whole carburetor, the part number for walbro will probably supersede to the Nikki assembly with additional components to make fitment. Either will work but you may find you need additional pieces to get correct fitment to the application (kits with the Nikki have the straight nipple, but a formed fuel hose that handles the right angle fitting issues)

Those right angle fuel lines seem pricey to me from briggs. Somewhere I saw a video on how to form your own

Yes...I think the Walbro with the strait inlet comes with a 90-degree piece of fuel line. Thank you.
