I have the following Tecumseh engine...HSSK50, 67364M, 5223B. Is there any way to tell when this engine was built? I know the first number of the serial number 5223B is supposed to be the year of manufacture.....1995, 1985,1975????? Is there any way to tell the decade?

I would suggest 1975, iirc that series was pretty well gone ten years later.

Thanks, 38 and Roy. I will check the ignition. Seems to me it is electronic, but have to look to be sure.
