Okay the 761-04017 use a M5-20 93/16 316 stainless steel rivet. This is because the rivet diameter needs to be .200" with a range of 0.434"-0.59". Here I use McMaster 9755A730 rivet.
The 761-05007 uses a 5/32 3-18 stainless steel rivet. Depending the needed clamp range needed either McMaster 5/32 Rivet - 18-2 Stainless - 0.251" - 0.375" (97525A470) or 5/32 Rivet - 18-8 Stainless - 0.376" - 0.5" (97525A473).
Note 11/28/2021-1: just did my first 761-05007 pad replacement and found that MTD just used plain aluminum rivets; unlike, the 761-04017 that they use steel rivets on.The 97525A473 rivets worked fine as they tighten up nicely.
Also found that the 761-5017 is a version of the 761-5007 pads so it is not used for those MTD deck brakes that are frame mounted. Still awaiting the pads to what the difference is between the 05007 and 05017 pads. Looking to be after Christmas before I get them.
Shipping has slipped into 2022, Looking like I going have to make my own 761-04017 pads. At least I have a source for the brake material and mill end bit.
