9075 478 4265 Pan head self-tapping screw IS-D5x60

4130 129 0900 Gasket

According to ipl it came with either a WT160 or WT492. A wt-327 is listed in the ipl. All three use the K20-WAT carb repair kit or the D10-WAT GND kit. The K20-WAT only costs me $4.31 each and retails for $8.64.

At that price why waste time and money on aftermarket unless you have lots of both? IMHO, the FS36 isn't worth mucking with.

Note when using those D5 x 60 screw for mounting the carburetor they are only tighten to 31 in/lbs [2.6 ft/lbs].

Hi PH

It should be noted that the Stihl FS-36 uses the IDC (Inertia Dynamics Corporation) 31cc engine also known as Ryobi. If you have a Junker Ryobi string trimmer, the type with the sparkplug on the bottom, the screws and carburetor mount gasket from that machine will probably get you by. All the best,

so i picked up the carb kit yesterday, its a stens kit that came with no needle assembly or screen just gaskets and diaphragms.put back together with a new spark plug and give it a rip.sucker started 1st pull then died and would not start again.pulled the plug and it was wet.looks like i gotta pull it apart again and chuck it into the USC one more time.man i hate when you try to help a bud out and it turns into an adventure. lol :bricks:

Personally I never just a GND (gasket and diaphragm) kit. You got either the Stens 615-443 or 615-590 when I would have went the 615-463 or 615-719 but the Walbro kits are cheaper for me to buy thru my distributor. It appears the difference between the kit is packaging; otherwords, two kits are in OEM package and two are not (generic).

Double the metering side gasket/diaphragm order. It is gasket next to the cube and then the diaphragm.

i pulled the carb apart again and chucked it back into the USC then did what KE4AVB suggested and installed the extra gasket.trimmer started first pull but had a rough idle.bumped up the idle a bit so it runs pretty good.seems to run a bit a bit rough at full throttle though.how much adjustment is in the high and low speed jets? i never touched them not to say that someone else has not monkeyed with them.they are the types with the rubber covers,i guess they are semi tamper proof.not sure how much they need to be turned.

thanks
