Input shaft clip K46 etc.

Postby hanz63 » Fri Jul 01, 2022 11:33 pm

Somehow I had a pouch of snap rings that I've used up on these. They're a bit heavier than the normal snap rings and I'd rather not buy them from Deere and Co. Anyone have a size / source for my next pouch? Been putting driven pulleys like it's in season or something....

Things do run in groups. Here it has a Kawasaki engine season. One of my vendors is showing their butts about me not ordering parts this year. Well I need nothing from them as they are primary my Briggs distributor and I have seen less than five Briggs engines the whole year.

The snap ring is Tuff Torq PN 19215489090 so you can buy them from one of the distributors. Gardner sells them for $1.36 ea with them coming in packs of five if I got my info right. But I probably find a cheaper source if you can give the dimensions of the area. Need groove diameter and width that I can come up with a part number for you.

Example would be a 17mm groove with a width of 1.3mm (heavy duty has a 1.6mm width), shaft diameter of 19mm. In this example I can get the standard one in packs of 50 for $10.50 or heavy ones in packs of 25 for $7. Now of course shipping is extra.

The little bugger fits on a 13mm shaft with an 11.85 mm groove and is 1.27 mm thick . I suppose that it could be a hardware item. Have one of those ICE kits of 10 different sizes and they don't look trustworthy.

The closest I can find is McMaster PN 98541A405 (package of 100, $11.76) or MSC PN 48347934.

Specs: 13mm Shaft Diam, 12.4mm Groove Diam, Spring Steel Metric External Snap Retaining Ring - 11.9mm Free OD, 11.9mm Free ID, 1.1mm Groove Width, 1mm Ring Thickness

That was a cut and paste. And I didn't notice that error either.

I got an idea that is a typo on the MSC website. I will send an email for clarification but it will take several days to get a reply if any. I will post the update info when I get it.
