kawasaki governor seal leak

friend has oil leak. he says dealer previously did a seal on recall on his Husqvarna twin. he said that he lifted unit and dropped front axle. didn't appear to remove pto clutch. is that a common failure. at least one youtuber said it was. wondering why axle had to drop to replace.

I no reason to drop the front axle either. But I do know those little 14mm od seals are a royal pain to get out without tearing the engine down. I finally made myself a puller for these as I had to replace several on JD ZTR engines.

Please note the screw on the adjustable governor arm is LH version and they are easily stripped out if you try loosening using lefty loosey.
