Briggs parts help?

Postby Arkie » Mon Aug 26, 2024 2:51 pm

Briggs Twin Intek (has John deere logos on the engine cowling.
ID data from valve cover:
445577 0110 E1
code 070312YG

Need a part number for a standard size set of rings. Need to make sure rings part number are for this CODE engine?

Also a link to a IPL using the engine code would help.

792026 STD Rings used after code 05071800 BTW ring for engine before 05071900 are NLA anyways. 05071800 is 2005 July 18. Your engine was built in 2007 March 12 so it definitely after the 05071800 code.

And piece of info if your luck is like mine the 594195 gasket is horrible. Otherwords the gasket is made of lousy paper and tends to blow out very easily. I have one customer that lost two new gaskets with a week of each install. So I went some after market gasket off eBay and they were a 100% better gaskets. OF they didn't comes screws but did come with oil seals. That particular listing is now closed but the following has the same red color gasket and not the white gasket Briggs sent me. I could actually feel a big difference between the Briggs and the current gaskets I got.

So you buy piston and ring assemblies for the earlier engine if still available.

I'd wonder if there's any reason the newer assembly would not fit older engines? (Might have to swap rods too..?)

According to IPL from Briggs Power Portal The rod is same for all years. I think all they did was to change the oil ring from a n one piece to a three piece one.

Here I upload the IPL to my Google Drive.
445500 TYPE 0025 thru 6584

It is Temp file so it will be deleted later at a time I clear other files for drive space.
