Loncin Motor Co engine?

Postby Arkie » Sun Oct 06, 2024 10:23 am

Have a new to me Loncin 1P70FC 196cc engine.
Never seen Loncin engines before. thought it was a clone Honda when viewing the carb and general layout. Finally found the ID on the rear of the block as Loncin.
It's on a Karcher pressure washer.
Starts easy and runs good.

Anyone had any good/bad experiences with these China made LONCIN engines as compared to an equivalent Briggs for example?

It is a decent engine for the price just don't expect Honda's reliability. Parts supply is also questionable, some but not all Honda parts will fit but if a major repair is required scrap it.

When I first seen the Loncin Motor Co engine I thought myabe it was a Honda re-branded clone, carb looked Honda.
Seen lots of $40-50 carb replacements for a 1P70FC engine which is more costly than Honda carbs for same size Honda engine.

The ID numbers on the back of the block were lengthy, 1070FC in large lightly colored and then very small ID hard to read
T3530017020 12239 then on a paper tag that will come off eventually 389493-10ME1100014223/1080. All of this ID info will eventually get cover in crud and hard to see or find. Engine happened to be still clean.

When I looked for parts several engines were using the T353XXXXXXXX XXXXXX numbers.
Could be like rolling the dice to get on correct page for getting correct parts.

That would be a LC1P70FC engine.

I linked the Loncin LC1P61FC, LC1P65FC, LC1P70FC Parts Listing in the download section under Loncin Engines. Just take the part number and search for them on the net. Also there are a few service manuals that I got there too; mostly from Toro.

https://awsparts.com is probably your best source for the parts.

Hopefully the revamp Loncin directory will make it easier find the info as I divided it up into multiple sub directories. I tried to de jungle it somewhat.

Thanks: ;)

Trying to find on-line info about this Loncin engine was not user friendly and weak and as you say a jungle of getting on the wrong page.

I found the IPL in your directory info after you gave me the hint.

There is one thing I have discovered during the Loncin engine info gathering I have done so far.

And it is that Loncin is doing things similar to Honda as they are not listing the engine IPLs separate from the standalone equipment they manufacture they are mounted on and branded as Loncin. It is just like Honda in this aspect. This why I have the generators, water pumps, and tillers IPLs loaded up too.

Most of the Loncin info I have found is from Loncin and out of New Zealand. Doesn't seem to be any US based site that carries this info except for the Toro and Husqvarna mounted Loncin engines.

Lucky for us is that once we can get the part numbers there are US sources for the parts themselves but we must search the net with the part numbers needed. Now with Toro and Husqvarna mounted engines I can usually get the parts from them using their part numbers which is not the same Loncin PNs. Sorta like buying Kawasaki parts from JD where JD has their own PNs.

The only problem I foresee is parts delivery times if an item is not in stock and has to be back ordered. This has been this with other OEMs this year for me with some parts taking up to four months to get in.

The only other ugly snake that might raise up is the tariffs depending on who is in the White House. We have enough problems with all the corporate changes already we just don't need more headaches to deal with. Like the Rehlko-branded engines coming from the former Kohler Engine company. What a stupid sounding name.
