Scams and extortions attempts

Heads up this season for scams and extortion emails.

I just received an email a few days ago that was an extortion attempt. They demanding $1256 in Bitcoin or they were going release videos and audio recordings of me from my system along while emailing all my contacts. And they no use doing a factory reset of my cell phone as they already had all the data. They claimed they don't make mistakes.

Well guys I am too old school for them as they have made several mistakes in the email. First there is no cameras or mics present. Second they can't possibly hack my cell phone for one major reason. I don't have one.

Needless to say I didn't fall for their threats. I can use that $1256 for food instead.

It was a little un-nerving at first but I calmly read the whole email several times. It became just a extortion attempt as I realized that first it came in on a seldom used email account with only two contacts. Both of which is two of other seldom used accounts. Basically they are for first contacts. Then came they saying they have been watching me via my camera and recording audio which I knew was impossible. Then final thing they said that doing a factory reset of the phone wont stop them. How can someone do a factory reset when there is no phone? First I have to get a phone I reckon.

And it is something I have been thinking about but just haven't committed to doing it yet. I prefer to get a laptop instead.

But I have seen some bad news. Coffee price have hit a 50 yrs high. I reckon I got to switch to drinking more herbal teas. I have manage already to cut back to half a pot of coffee per day instead of three full pots. Boy the caffeine withdrawal was rough on the customers. I was a terrible grouch with all the headaches but the vendors bared most of it as they deserved it for trying to screw me. I could always do what my mother used to do with the coffee grounds which boil them for extra coffee.

Like AVB said Gardner is a royal pain to deal ever since they changed their software and started using two different systems that are not crossed linked. And now RBI has changed their software too. One salesman emailed abut coming out and I told him to stay away as I am not a happy customer and would chew him out.

wait til you hit one of those web pages (largely all gone by these days, but some still out there, and usually blocked by an ad blocker) that kicks up a fullscreen pop-out that you can't click or interact or close (Hint , learn about Alt+F4 on windows) looking for all intents and purposes as if your computer has been locked down and taken over (Of course you could just unplug it too, but they give ominous warning that unplugging or turning off will render the computer permanently disabled) First time I saw one pop up, I wasted a whole 10 minutes trying to figure an exit then tried Alt+F4 (close current program) but it was good for a few seconds of panic followed by several minutes of inaction and then start thinking it through.

Not all programs can be close using Alt +F4 or CTRL + F4. My accounting program is one. When it hangs I have to use the Task Manager to close it down.
