Gotta stay off Craigslist...just bought a 1997 Seadoo SPX for $250 !!
Kid said there was a shot seal in the center of the crank that let injection oil leak into the cylinders. Got home and did some research.....turns out you can disconnect the pump a just run premix!! Gotta reassemble the engine because someone just redid the whole top end....$150 in the pistons alone. No trailer sadly...

Don't know the regs in your area Bob but out here in the west many lakes/rivers now require "Direct" oil injection for 2 strokes. The non direct injection a 97 has or pre-mix can't be used anymore.

They can be a lot of fun and easy to tow with the boat with the cold dranks.
Just remember they have to be moving in order to steer and put a float on the key. Don't ask me how I know this.
