What the hell is it??

Postby bobodu » Fri Nov 22, 2013 9:15 pm

This was hanging on the rack at the Do-it-best store and I don't know what the hell it is....neither did anyone in the store. Not surprising since it is a Do-it-best.
It's is hinged like a load binder. Maybe 14 inches long. A hook on one end like it was meant to hold a chain and a spike on the other...but there are roll pins running through it to stop travel so it isn't a binder. Also an "L" shaped bit that slides....I just don't know....ain't a spoke spreader..

Looks like a tire bead breaker to me.

I wouldn't pay $32.98 to open a bucket. I did search just for laughs and there isn't anything like that in bucket openers. It's way too complicated for that. Not that it matter much but it was hanging by the dowel rods and table legs.

Well it pays to keep asking. Another guy at the hardware asked " Can I help you?" Well sure...tell me what the hell that thing is hanging on the wall back there. He says " Oh...the board straightener thing again.." He looked it up on the computer and it's called a BowJak...It's used for floor boards. Like who uses wood boards anymore....but I suppose it could be used on a deck. Its placed on top of a joist and the pointy dog is pounded down, then you pull back and the flat foot forces the board over against the adjacent board.
