Yeah, I used to run I-40 regularly, always stopped in Albuquerque, had a cool little cafe/steak joint on the old road just before ya hit the Shamrock. Managed to see the balloon lift a couple of times, right colorfull!!

The picture was taken on the south side of the capital building in Oklahoma City looking south at the oil derricks. Some are still there but most are gone these days.
extra: There was a time when Tulsa was known as the Oil capital of the world. There was time when oil was so plentiful that the state passed a law saying oil could not be sold under $10 per barrel.
