"Your images may only be up to 600 pixels wide"

Am curious about why now I've begun getting the message "Your images may only be up to 600 pixels wide" when trying to include images with my forum posts from photos I have stored on Photobucket and am using the direct image link, and thus it won't post when I try to include such image(s). Didn't have such an issue/message before here, even in the same thread.

Always been that way since the board was started - 600 max width of a photo that can be inserted to the forum - keeps layouts neater for people on cell phones, etc - not so much scrolling

Sorry I was mistaken about me being able to post in the forum over 600 max width before. Although am trying now to edit my photobucket pics with photobucket resize editor but whenever I do it, it doesn't stay set that way in the photobucket. I'll mess with it some more, maybe I'll get it.

Update: It seems I've had success now in managing to reduce the pixel width (to resize within 600 pixel width limitation) using the Photobucket edit resize function, so have no problem posting photos now. First few times trying with the resize editor, it was not "saving" and kept reverting back to original size, then I finally discovered the only way I could get it to save was not to select "replace original" when doing the resize/save. For whatever reason, that "replace original" function was/is apparently not working with Photobucket, or perhaps I wasn't doing something quite right. Anyhoo, think I got it now. Here's a resized photo that should appear below, now:

Not that it's particularly all that imperative that I can get the function to operate, I am still curious about what I mentioned earlier about my lack of success being able, using the Photobucket editor, to replace the original when doing the resize/save. There's a checkbox there that when checked should allow that function, but for me whenever I have that box checked, it does not replace the original, and does not save the resize either. Only if I leave that checkbox unchecked and do the save does it actually perform and save the resized image, except of course then does not replace the original but creates a separate image with the changed size. Perhaps this issue as I describe is replicated when others try doing this? Maybe an issue I should try to ask Photobucket but just thought I'd ask here first, maybe other members (Travis?) might offer input about it from past experience. Thanks...

After changing the size, click apply, wait 2 or 3 seconds, then check the box, then click save,

This has been working for me but it sounds like that is the way you are doing it.

I am going back and play with it and see if it still works for me. Been a few days since I have used it.

One thing That I forgot to speak of is: after you apply, check box, save, you will get a bar across the screen saying----replacing original print.

I just did this pic from start to finish--It was 4000 X 3000 to start with.
