Can you tell me why a person inspects the tires on his truck?
Is he getting ready to do something?

Hmm.. talk about "out of left field"

If its a serious question, and you are speaking of a commercial truck, it is actually a federal law D.O.T Safety standards for CDL drivers to inspect their tires before making any trip (Walk around inspection) for wear (Traction issues) , cuts and damage (blowouts) and recaps coming loose (Ever see those "alligators" along the highway? ) and tire pressures (load bearing and overheating issues) among other things - One would want to do the same with any truck on which you plan to be hauling a heavy load.. How do I know? I used to have a class A CDL (tractor trailer driving)

Or, maybe your question to Bobo went right over my head.. :bricks:

Brian, I was behind one those gas haulers when one those alligators came to life. The whole rear came off the roadway and I thought I was going to need to change my underwear. I would think that driver probably had some the same thoughts as I did.

I shot that because a guy wanted to trade some thinner tires for my big ones which don't handle well on bad roads. Looking to switch to some 245s. Hit even a shallow puddle with the 12.5s and they drag me off to the side.

If I got this right...those 12.5 are equal to 317mm. Way too wide for my tastes.

Found some stock rims on Craigslist for $100 and got two tires for 40 from work...plus 40 to mount and balance two lousy tires. But I have the old ones on Craigslist for 350..

Those are pretty good looking wheels. I like 'em.

In my end of the country- they get $10 for mounting and balance each tire.
Down here a lot of things are cheap.............especially advise.

Walmart was the only place open. $5 off...$5 on and $9 to balance !! I'm sure I could have done better if I wanted to wait, but I really wanted to get the old ones on the market without the truck being on jack stands.

Trucks don't do much good if they are on jack stands. Are you supposed to get a little snow up your way?
4-wheel drive don't help much if there is no tires.
