Tuff Torq K61 oil weight

Postby man00 » Tue Jun 18, 2024 7:51 am

Bought a very nice used LX176 couple year back, and want to change the fluid in the K61 trans
Not sure what weight of oil to use I seen 0w-30, 5w-40 5w-50 and 5w-30
I think when the tractor came out the oil was 5w-30 but read Tuff Torg made a change
thanks?

Per the IPL for the K61C it uses 15W50 Synthetic. Tuff Torq PN 187Q0899000 3 Liter bottle. Can sub Mobile One 15W50 Synthetic. But I usually use the Tuff Torq oil as it is only about $5 more per bottle and this a long term use of the oil. Now this is because I get it at a discount so Mobile One is a better price for the DIYer. Walmart usually has the best on the Mobile One which I use on most oil changes now.

'If changing the oil I would suggest changing the oil filter too. PN 19215488211. And use 1A646099500 sealant to reseal case halves but work fast using it as it sets up fast.

You are looking at about $110 in parts counting the oil to do this oil change. That is provided you are not replacing any of the seals.
