briggs 495933 float bowl

Postby 38racing » Fri Jul 05, 2024 11:13 pm

this part number shows on all the ipls I've checked for 28 and 31 series with walbro lmt carbs. Does anyone have an oem one that they could measure the height? I have an oregon aftermarket that my supplier lists as a replacement but the height is less than the one on my carb . The aftermarket matches the listed height of 1 5/16(1.3125) but the description said lmk not lmt. Mine is higher at about 1.350. the lips also look a bit different.

The Oregon bowl should still fit correctly but I haven't one since 2018 according to my system here. I do have 5 of them in stock. Probably because I was finding a lot rusted ones back then. I even have Walbro cross for it but that number doesn't come up in the price file anymore. And Walbro site is useless since they changed it.

Yeah I would ask are you measuring from the center hole of bowl to the rim? Sometimes the bowl's profile is changed but still fits - However, the bowls for LMT and LMK *are* very different so you may be looking at a typo or mis print in oregon catalog - But as KE4 said, it is also possible the aftermarket will fit - those walbro bowls were very common to have to replace due to rust (usually after cleaning, you'd find a pinhole leak) But from your post it is hard to tell , since you don't mention the oregon part number or where you're finding the info, etc.

Then again KE4 mentions he has them in stock, maybe he could take the measurements you're asking for.

The info on the Oregon bowl is correct for the 49-219 bowls. Actually the Briggs 495933 would be the same as the Kawasaki 16020-7003 fuel bowl.

I measured outside. I'll put straight edge across the top and measure inside to nut hole. That distance should match carb bowl gasket lip to bottom edge of tower. The my Oregon didn't seal .you could still turn it even with tight bowl nut.

Are you 100% sure you are dealing with a Walbro?

ImageImage

The yellow one left is the 495933 Walbro bowl and the aluminum one on the right is a 694908 Nikki bowl.

Now when I measure Oregon bowls here I get 1.365 from lip to flat bottom. What Oregon is measuring supposedly is from the bottom to lower side of the lip. Now these Oregon bowls I have are from 2018.

The 694908 Nikki (2018) bowl is 1.436 from lip to flat bottom.

I match both mounting lips and are same OD.

as someone mentioned the oregon lip profile is slightly different than briggs but sealing to bowl hole measure the same. I have the oregon on now and dry fit seems good . Just going to hang it for flood test. Not sure why the issue before. I used bowl gasket from Oregon. Maybe I need to check the ones that were separate purchase.
