Well I just have to write it off for now and no pay no Federal income taxes to support the new administration. He personally asked for it. It may only be a small amount but it is my way of protesting his tax the consumers to death via tariffs policies. And I am so glad I am not of the draft age anymore as it appears he planning doing right the opposite of what he said about keeping us out of wars. In his news conference yesterday he talk about going to war with Greenland and Panama and hint going to war with Hamas.

If he get his way parts from China will be going 60% so a $100 item will then cost $160 which I must pass along to the customer. Even his 20% on every other importer would that $100 being $120. Doesn't sound like a lot until say buy $10,000 on part which would cost $12,000. I only a little over $8,000 in parts so if I buy the same amount that would cost me an extra $800. Very of the parts I buy are actually made in the USA.

Just have hunker down and deal with what happens now just like everyone else has to do.

.

That's what finally convinced me to bite the bullet earlier than I had planned on that benchtop 7x14 mini metal lathe I had been wanting (and squirreling away money for) - just got it in yesterday, had to shuffle a lot of stuff around the garage to make room for things (I was originally waiting til spring to do a full garage cleanout and garage sale, but I didn't want to take a chance that the price would have nearly doubled from what I got it on sale for)

I have been thinking about a lathe and milling combo myself since my machinist retire. Just haven't had the funds to spare.
